Pepperoni Garlic Bread Pizza Boats — homemade finished dish
Everything you need

Ingredients

Batch size

Choose a batch size above. Portion to your appetite.

Garlic bread

Pizza topping

Wheat and milk. Check pepperoni and sauce labels for other allergens.

Let’s cook

Make it tonight.

  1. Make four boats

Heat oven to 220°C (200°C fan) / 425°F. Line a large tray with baking paper. Cut the baguette in half lengthways, then cut each half across to make four boats. Gently press a shallow channel into each soft centre, leaving the base intact.
  2. Toast the garlic bread

Mix softened butter, grated garlic and parsley. Spread over the four cut faces, including the edges. Bake cut-side up for 5–6 minutes until lightly crisp; do not let the garlic darken.
  3. Add the toppings

Spread each boat with 40 g pizza sauce. Divide mozzarella and pepperoni evenly between them, keeping toppings away from the very edges. Sprinkle with oregano.
  4. Bake and serve

Bake for 8–10 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the pepperoni edges curl. Watch closely near the end so the bread does not scorch. Rest for 2 minutes, then serve warm.

Make it yours.

Avoid soggy bread

Toast before topping and choose a thick pizza sauce. Keep to 40 g sauce per boat.

Make it meat-free

Replace pepperoni with 80 g well-drained roasted red pepper, patted dry and sliced.

Add a little heat

Add chilli flakes at the table to taste.

Leftovers

Refrigerate within 2 hours and use within 3 days. Reheat at 180°C / 350°F for 8–12 minutes until the centre is steaming hot; loosely cover if edges brown too quickly.

Equipment

Large baking tray, baking paper, bread knife, chopping board, small bowl and grater..
