Your browsing, explained

Privacy.

Updated September 11, 2026. This page describes the current version of this website.

Saved recipes

When you tap a heart, this site stores the recipe identifier in your browser’s local storage. It does not create an account or send your saved list to us. You can remove recipes by tapping the heart again, or clear this site’s stored data in your browser.

Search and cooking tools

Search, filters, ingredient checkboxes and batch scaling run in your browser. These tools do not send your saved recipes, ingredient selections or search text to an analytics service.

Website traffic and performance

Public pages use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views, visits, referring sites and page performance. The private Studio, saved-recipes page and email-confirmation page do not include our analytics script. Cloudflare describes this service as privacy-first and does not use it to track people across websites. See how Cloudflare Web Analytics works.

Email and contact

The Crave List uses Kit to collect email signups and send recipes and occasional Crave Theory updates. When you submit the signup form, your email address is sent directly to Kit. Kit may process technical information such as your IP address and subscription/confirmation activity to deliver emails and help prevent abuse. Confirm your address using the email link to join. You can unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter. The website does not add visitors to the list automatically or store subscriber addresses in its recipe database. Learn more in Kit’s privacy policy. The email contact link opens your email app. Messages sent to hello@eatcravetheory.com are forwarded by Cloudflare to our Gmail inbox; these providers process the message and sender details to deliver and store it. Instagram links have their own privacy practices.

Images and hosting

Launch images are served with the website. New recipe images are stored with Supabase and served through this site. When this site is hosted publicly, the hosting provider may process routine connection information such as IP addresses and request logs. The site uses the limited traffic analytics described above and does not include advertising trackers.

Private recipe editor

The owner editor uses Supabase to handle sign-in, store recipe drafts and keep uploaded images. Login details stay in the current browser session. Draft text and unpublished images are accessible only to authorized editors. Published recipes and their images become public. The latest working draft and selected images also save in this browser for recovery. Device recovery is scoped to the signed-in editor account; the unconnected preview keeps a separate local draft. It can be removed by discarding changes in the Studio or clearing this site’s browser data. Downloaded recipe backups contain recipe text and images, not login credentials. This owner login is separate from visitors’ saved recipes.
